How to read this

Wind is the maximum 1-minute sustained wind. Hurricanes are rated on the Saffir–Simpson scale: Category 1 from 64 kt, 2 from 83 kt, 3 from 96 kt (a "major" hurricane), 4 from 113 kt and 5 from 137 kt.

The cone shows where the storm's centre will probably go. It is not the size of the storm: dangerous wind, rain and surge often reach well outside it.

For warnings and evacuation decisions always follow the National Hurricane Center and your local authorities.
